This exciting position requires an individual to be responsible for supporting the running of workshop programmes in drama and the related arts for groups of all ages.
The post will primarily involve working with young people (under 18) although it may develop into working with adults depending on the Company’s future programme. This will include supporting the Drama Worker- Acting Out with the delivery and co-ordination of Acting Out, a groundbreaking work-related learning programme using drama to work with young people in danger of exclusion from schools. Based in the theatre, workshops are run for students aged between 14 and 16 years, leading to a BTEC qualification in Performing Arts, using drama to develop personal skills to specifically building performance skills and experience.
The Apprentice will also be required as a central part of their work, to support the work of other members of the C&E team, and to co-ordinate and support projects being delivered by freelancers, supporting the administration and practical delivery of a range of other groups in venues across the city of Coventry. The department has a particular commitment to working with people from disadvantaged communities, and / or young people at risk of exclusion from school.
