18.11.09 // The custard factory
The Custard Factory reception is the main hub of the whole centre. The Custard Factory encompasses the whole area around the main building and all of the streets in Digbeth. The arts complex sits right in the centre and is a creative hive of activity with lots of different arts businesses and office spaces for the local creative industries to take advantage of.
We managed to speak to Frankie, the head of reception about his role in the Custard Factory and find out a little bit more about how the organisation is run.
The Custard Factory is the head quarters for Birmingham’s Creative arts, at the establishment the businesses range from fashion, music, to television and art galleries. All of the companies are advertised on the official Custard Factory website and are all within walking distance of each other. It is a great place for the artists to network and get to know each other and is very diverse in its approach to the creative arts and how it showcases its work. The main retail hours at the custard factory are between 10am and 5pm with mainly purpose based customer attractions. The custard factory also showcases live music festivals once a week with a wide range of music provided.
