03.02.10 // What is it like to be an Creative Apprentice?
back to full listing

At the beginning of the apprenticeship I felt like it was complicated for me to grasp the whole initial idea and purpose until I was fully introduced to the companies background and how they prioritise tasks and work as a team .In addition it took me a short period of time to learn the structure, aims and policies of the company which has relieved the complications at workplace.

Being creative apprentice and Working in a team at creative alliance is a great experience. I have been highly supported and in various areas of work throughout my placement time until I have reached the confidence to gradually work independently on wide range of tasks.

However weekly Monday training sessions has provided me with knowledge and understanding of skills and attitude that is essential in creative sector. Therefore I effectively applied them to my day to day work placement which successfully advanced me to a higher quality of work which I committed. As I began to identify tasks for the projects that accured on daily bases; I’ve become actively involved in organising the stationery, equipment, venue hire, up-to-date news and research and highly involved in administration, networking, arranging meetings etc.

Through research and communication I learned about a large amount of companies and what they do in creative industry .Monitoring and evaluation took place every other day as we aspired to keep our team interactions and information sharp also up to date as much as possible . I checked and responded to emails, voice mails and took phone calls etcso on, in regards to arrangements of all projects.
