Birmingham City Council have an exciting opportunity to employ an Events Assistant Apprentice who will help organise, execute, and review events in various locations.
Key Responsibilities (WHAT DO WE EXPECT THIS ROLE TO ACHIEVE) –
- Assisting events officers with planning, organising, delivering, and evaluating Civic, Community, and sports events held across the city.
- Providing administrative assistance to the events team, including organising meetings, documenting minutes, updating projects, generating reports, and arranging external goods or services.
- Managing event organisers’ enquiries and bookings submitted via the Event Portal, while coordinating with organisers and relevant internal council departments as instructed.
- Providing assistance to the Events team during on-site events, including evenings and weekends when necessary, to ensure smooth operations.
- Fostering positive connections with event organisers, internal council teams, and essential stakeholders
ensures the smooth execution of an effective events programme.

Requirements:
Minimum grade GCSE 4 / C in Maths and English

Event Assistant Level 3 Standard
Apprentices learn the skills they need on the job with the guidance of a development coach who is an expert from industry. You will finish your apprenticeship with a recognised qualification, valuable industry experience, money, and substantial opportunities for promotion.
Training is a blended learning delivery model: online learning, classroom sessions, work-based training, independent research, workplace projects, one-to-one support and training. Your training will include:

Location, this a Hybrid role - Birmingham based – the post holder will be required to move around the city to support any necessary events, therefore a driving licence is required.
Living in Birmingham and MUST have the Right to Work in the UK.
