Projects

These are the example projects and assignments that will be set by the development coach for the learner to complete, they will use their “off the job” time to complete these. We want to keep encouraging managers to be involved in guiding these projects, which will make sure that the learning achieved is of greater value for the company and the learner. They would do 5-6 projects throughout the course.

These are just examples. As its tailored course they are kept quite open and fluid:

Project 1 – How is data used in your business: Start the project by looking at how data is used in the business Write report on how your company uses data, figuring in the following questions:

  • What is your role in using data?
  • How could data be used better?

Project 2 – Data Gathering: This would be a project that would be a good starting point to practice basic data analysis techniques.

Project 3 – Gather, analyse and present data: This is an example of a later project that would be suitable for a work-based exercise or real-life project for the apprenticeship. This would be worked with the manager to build a project that has meaning for the company/department.
