Creative Alliance & Arts Connect

Arts Connect, in partnership with Creative Alliance, is supporting the Local Culture and Education Partnerships of Solihull, Walsall, Stoke-on-Trent, and Herefordshire to host Creative Industry Careers Days during National Careers Week across the West Midlands.

Four Amazing Events

Arts Connect and Creative Alliance have joined together to create four events aimed at helping local young people understand more about the creative and cultural industry. These events were delivered by four different Local Cultural Education Partnerships (LCEPs) based in the West Midlands. The events took place at The Core Theatre Solihull, The New Art Gallery Walsall, The New Vic Theatre in Newcastle-under-Lyme, and the Hereford College of Arts. Each of the events are different but involved a mixture of talks from creative professionals, tours of the creative spaces, panel discussions, and creative style learning activities for young people to learn about the different job roles within the creative industries and how to become a creative professional.

See below for information for each of the CEPs and the events we helped to organise. We have worked alongside Studio46 to create a highlight video for each event. There’s also a Case Study, part of our Homegrown project, showcasing a creative professional from each of the CEPs, produced and created in-house by one of our digital marketing apprentices.

Careers Day

Creative Connections Herefordshire hosted a Creative Careers Day involving guest speaker Elle Adams, who delivered a presentation on how it is to work in the creative industries and the variety of career paths available. She then lead an interactive workshop to look at creative careers pathways, which was delivered in sessions to 3 different secondary schools in Herefordshire.
