Creative Industries talent pool just got bigger!
The creative industries are the one of the fastest growing sectors of the West Midlands economy: it’s worth nearly £4 billion a year to the regional economy and employment in the sector has increased by 16%. This was published just last week in the Birmingham Mail:
However, competition for jobs is fierce and getting that first foot in the door into the digital, marketing and creative industries is tough. That’s why apprenticeships are proving a popular route especially as the statistics show that 80% of young people who complete their first year of apprenticeships move into employment in the sector.
From May 1st graduates have become eligible for apprenticeships.
Given the number of graduates who tried before then to apply for our apprenticeships vacancies we suspected that we would see a significant rise in applications for our apprenticeships after May 1st.
In preparation for this, we have partnered with Enrola:https://www.enrola.co.uk/ to develop a bespoke apprenticeship recruitment software. The software enables us to promote vacancies and process applications much more efficiently. We’ll be able to post onto more job sites, meaning your vacancy will now reach more potential candidates than ever before.
In the past six weeks since the launch of the software we have attracted 1000 applications for 30 vacancies, within two hours of Birmingham Royal Ballet’s wig apprenticeship vacancy going live this week we received 20 applications.
So, if you’re considering taking on an apprentice, now is the ideal time: the talent is there and we can process then and get them to you even more effectively.
