Job Title – Marketing Assistant

Hours: Part Time (2 days a week)

Salary: £17,000 pro/rata

Job Description:

Looking to get paid work in marketing? Looking to develop links across the creative industries?

This role involves you talking with young people and employers through social media, the phone and face to face.

You’ll need to be:

  • confident and comfortable in using a range of social media platforms & WordPress: enough to be able to update the website with new content. We have an agency we use for the larger design work on the site;
  • enjoy talking to people and writing blogs about what you hear & find out;
  • very organized and good at picking up how to & then using business software like our Customer Relationship Management system.

Work Programme October – December 2017

1 day focus on marketing & 1 day focus on administration supporting recruitment of apprentices. If you have another day available then that will be used supporting both areas.

Marketing Support

Work with the team to produce and implement a plan to raise awareness about apprenticeship opportunities, our pre-apprenticeship Foot in the Door projects and the Promote WBL project: a European project with 6 other European partners about Work Based Learning. Responsibilities will include:

 

Apprenticeship Vacancies

  • Developing content (images & copy) for messages for FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram & Linked In for every one of the current apprenticeship vacancies and scheduling those to go out over a week.
  • Deciding on which vacancies we should do FaceBook ads on based on geography, demographics etc. and producing, uploading and monitoring the impact of those adverts.
  • Promoting the latest e-flier about apprenticeships across all social media platforms and liaising with James Ellis about distributing the latest apprentice e-flier via MailChimp.
  • Developing blog posts based on conversations with members of the team; current and past apprentices; employers.
  • Produce reports as requested on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns.
  • Actively engage in Creative Alliance activity and generate ideas to promote awareness of what we do, why we do it and our achievements.

Targets

  • Content produced for each new live vacancy (adapted for different platforms). Initially 6 / week whilst build up to full capacity.
  • 3 social media adverts / week for each vacancy. Initially 6 / week whilst build up to full capacity.
  • Baseline FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram followers & review after 2 months
  • 2 blog posts / month about apprenticeships for posting on website using key words from Rice Audit (to be provided)

Foot in the Door Projects: Foot in the Door T Skills Diversity & Foot in the Door into Film.

  • Contact 8 current participants on both FITD projects and ask them for content (copy, images, film) about their experiences of the project.
  • Develop messages for FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram & Linked In and engage in appropriate conversation about the projects with participants and stakeholders.
  • Produce 1 blog post / month on the FITD projects, tagged and uploaded onto the website and disseminated via the platforms.
  • Ensure funders are suitable credited and tagged.

Promote WBL

  • Produce 1 blog post / month about progress in the project
  • Update the website on latest news from project partners
  • Produce fortnightly social media messages about the project and keep screen shots of all messages as evidence of dissemination
  • Update the dissemination log: what we have done & where on a weekly basis.

Carl Quinn, the project manager, will produce a more detailed brief with the person.

The line manager for the part-time post will be the General Manager.

 

Important Other Information that we must put in

A DBS check and new certificate will be required and the cost will be met by Creative Alliance.

In addition, the post holder will be required to:

  • Comply with the Data Protection Act.
  • Undertake professional development suited to the post including Health & Safety as all duties and responsibilities must be carried out with due regard to our Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity Policies.
  • To participate in the staff review process and to provide regular reports on work progress and any other requests for information about work performance.
