Creative Venue Technician Trainee


Purpose of the role:

The Creative Venue Technical Assistant Kickstart Trainee will support the three venues in the delivery of workshops, events, rehearsals, recordings and exhibitions.  This role will suit you if you enjoy being backstage more than onstage, you like making things operate and enjoy working with technology. 

Main Responsibilities:

To assist with the operation and organisation of all technical aspects of events, live shows, recording sessions and rehearsals at Grosvenor Road Studios, Legacy Centre of Excellence and ACE Space.  To liaise and work closely with the venues’ technicians to ensure requirements are met and an excellent level of service is provided.



Possible progression into apprenticeship and future employment opportunity 

This opportunity is funded through DWP applicants, therefore, must be in receipt of universal credit. Must be age 16 -24 years.

Have excellent communication skills as you’ll need to talk with clients, customers and other team members

Be proactive with a ‘can do’ attitude and be keen to learn new skills and develop existing ones

Be flexible in order to be able to respond to a range of different work situations

Be committed to delivering a high level of customer service

Be approachable and have the ability to work under pressure

Be both a team player and have the ability to work on your own initiative

Technical Skills – You must:

Be computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office

Be willing to learn and use in-house software systems, CRM’s, spreadsheets and databases

Training to be provided:

All kickstarts have training included as part of the programme. This will be employability skills programmes and training for the role.

You need to be 18-25 years old and on Universal Credit.
Future prospects:
Creative Alliance will provide the Kickstart Placement with a mentor to provide ongoing support to effectively integrate them into the culture of the company and help them understand the professional standards we work to. They will receive external employability support from Creative Alliance who will help them produce a new CV and portfolio so they can compete for marketing positions after their six months on the Kickstart scheme. Once we have appointed our Placement we will look at which of the Digital Skills for Business courses (coding & web design; digital content production; design; digital marketing) best meets their development needs and they will attend that level 3 certified 60 hour tutor lead course provided by Creative Alliance.
