Purpose of the role 

To assist the officers, staff and volunteers of Helping Hands in tasks which enable the smooth running of the charity’s finance systems and processes 

Core Duties: 

Logging on to donations platforms/websites and downloading reports.  Producing simple analysis of the data as required, including Gift Aid statistics 

Assisting with Thank You notes to donors 

Obtaining paying in slip details from the Lighthouse Shop Manager on a weekly basis 

Liaising with staff members to request receipts and invoices and uploading these onto the Receipt Bank, as well as updating the invoice tracker spreadsheet 

Assisting with the processing of staff expenses claims 

Assisting with postings to the charity’s finance system (Xero) 

Performing any other tasks as reasonably requested and agreed with your line manager 

 

General Duties: 

Act as a positive advocate for Helping Hands at all times 

Embracing the Helping Hands Safeguarding Policy and Procedures at all times.  This includes our Equal Opportunities Policy, Health and Safety Work Policy and Whistle Blowing Policy 

Adhering to the Helping Hands Terms and Conditions of Employment, including Grievance and Disciplinary Procedures. 

Following all Health and Safety guidance and best practices,  

Adhering to GDPR (Data Protection) legislation 

 

Requirements:

Must be on Universal Credit and inbetween the ages 16-25 

Skills required:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office – particularly the ability to perform basic tasks in Excel 

Basic Data manipulation skills – for spreadsheet and analysis work 

 Excellent communication skills as you’ll need to email and talk with team members, volunteers, suppliers and fund raisers, amongst others.  

Training to be provided:

All kickstarts have training included as part of the programme. This will be employability skills programmes and training for the role.

Punctual and Reliable

Things to consider:
You need to be 18-25 years old and on Universal Credit.
Future prospects:
Creative Alliance will provide the Kickstart Placement with a mentor to provide ongoing support to effectively integrate them into the culture of the company and help them understand the professional standards we work to. They will receive external employability support from Creative Alliance who will help them produce a new CV and portfolio so they can compete for marketing positions after their six months on the Kickstart scheme. Induction training will be offered when the successful applicant starts in their role
