Main Responsibilities

This includes maintaining studio equipment and repairing worn/broken parts, making sure studio and workshop is kept in order and also organise and label where needed for stock take.

Above all we are looking for someone who has initiative when it comes to organisation and a passion for animation, film and technology with an understanding of craft.


Core Duties:

Managing studio equipment in departments – studio/workshop/production office

Maintaining equipment : repairing where possible worn and broken parts.

Organising studio & workshop, keeping departments tidy and labelled and documented for stock take.

Organising database of studio files, getting all film/photography content in order and saved either online or onto hard-drives.

Using various studio equipment (cameras in particularly), help capture footage of the studio for archive purposes and/or promotion.


General Duties

Adhere to company processes, policies and procedures, health and safety best practices around social distancing.

Ensure compliance with all relevant reporting requirements

Work in a way which celebrates diversity in practice, programmes and projects and encourages best practice

Act as a positive advocate of Yamination Studios at all times

Act responsibly will all studio equipment

Carry out any other reasonable duties as required and agreed with the studio supervisor


You need to be 18-25 years old and on Universal Credit

Skills required:

Any experience and knowledge with using professional film equipment, power tools and technology is key.

Good camera skills

Competent at testing/repairing studio equipment/workshop machinery

Good understanding of database and file management

Full UK Driving License (preferable)

Training to be provided:

Internally we can provide a vast array of skills for the roles we are looking to acquire support for. As an accredited BFI Film tutor, I, along with my team, can provide basic digital software tutorials such as Microsoft Suites, Adobe Creative Suite and online packages to supporting the use of camera/film and workshop equipment.

All kickstarts have training included as part of the programme. This will be employability skills programmes and training for the role.
