COVID-19 has presented many challenges for businesses everywhere. However, some businesses have been able to thrive better than ever during this difficult time. The E-learning sector being one of the biggest because of the COVID-19 impact.

In fact, “in the current year, revenue is expected to increase by 13.1%” for E-learning and online education in the UK, due to the outbreak of COVID-19

Schools, universities, and businesses were thrown into the deep end of online learning and so there is a much higher demand for reliable and efficient software that can be used on an educational and professional level. While there are already many useful applications, we are only hitting the tip of the iceberg and there is so much potential for bigger and better innovations now that online learning will be a common option for organisations.

Working from home isn’t the only thing the pandemic has caused.  “About 2.2 million people, or 6.5% of all workers, could be unemployed at the end of the year”. This will be the highest since the start of the pandemic. Meaning more pressure and demand on the E-learning sector due to many unemployed trying to develop their skill sets in order to have a better chance at getting another job.

It’s not all bad though, multiple lockdowns have given young and older people a chance to reflect on their lifestyles and career paths and decide to go for what they really want. Actually in 2020, “More than half of UK workers – 53 percent – planned to make a change to their career” as a direct result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Also, there is now a stronger desire for people to find a role that allows them to work remotely, and just beyond that is the aspiration to learn new skills. So, all of this falls down to the E-learning sector. The demand for educational and professional online services is continuing to rise and therefore more skills, more workers, and more talent are needed in order to meet these demands.
