We enable and empower creative
thinking in business through apprenticeships
and certified qualifications.
The Kickstart Scheme has been created to help businesses employ young people, following the Covid-19 pandemic. The Government will pay six months salary at National Minimum Wage for young people aged 16-25 years, provided they are claiming Universal Credit. There are no limits to the type of role on this scheme, and no limits to the level of education the Kickstart trainee may already have.

> Be committed to supporting the training of a young person
You will not be eligible if you have the following:

> Can only offer under 25 hours per week
> Unable to provide training and support

We’ve taken the lessons we learnt moving all our training on-line to devise a new form of hybrid training. All our training is delivered by Development Coaches who are qualified educators with current industry experience in digital content production, event management, marketing, software development and all the other areas we work in.
They deliver from our Birmingham learning centre to learners who are simultaneously both in centre and on-line. The sessions are recorded so learners who can’t attend the live session can access the training in their own time.
Our training adopts what is known as a ‘blended learning’ approach. It’s a mix of group seminars, 1:2:1 training and coaching sessions, on-line learning, independent research and portfolio development. It’s practical, purposeful and tailored to meet the needs of each learner & employer.
It’s designed with employers to ensure each learner develops the knowledge and skills to they are looking for from employees & freelancers. If you’re looking to upskill yourself or members of your team, take a look at our Digital Skills for Business programme.
Complete the application form and return it to us.
You must have a minimum of 12months books with HMRC.
Approx six weeks minimum- four for the DWP to conduct due diligence, then two weeks for the advert to go live on the DWP system. How long you advertise for and start dates are up to you.
Your Kickstart trainee will need mentoring and training. You may use one of our DS4B vocational training programs or provide your own training if this is not suitable. You will need to provide us with a training plan if you opt to do it yourself.
Anything and everything- there is no limit to what roles can be created.
You can advertise your roles, but you must be clear that applications go through the DWP work coaches.
No – the ads are only visible to internal DWP staff, which is why we advise you to advertise as well. Applicants will only hear about the placements if their work coach advises them, unless they see your/our ads.
If our DS4B course isn’t suitable for your Kickstart placement, you can provide your own training. You will need to provide us with a training plan so that we can monitor progress and keep the DWP informed of how their funding is being used.
