Job Summary
Site Production Operator is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the setup, operation, and breakdown of all technical production elements, including lighting, audio, and visuals. Working closely with the Production Manager and guest artists, you will ensure every event runs smoothly and meets the highest standards of quality. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for live events to grow their skills in a fast-paced, creative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lighting Operation:
- Assist in programming and operating the lighting console (e.g., Avolites, MA Lighting, Chamsys) during live events.
- Perform pre-show checks of all lighting fixtures, cabling, and control systems.
- Assist with the rigging, focusing, and maintenance of intelligent and generic lighting fixtures.
- Implement dynamic, on-the-fly lighting ("busking") that complements the DJ's performance and the energy of the crowd.
Sound Engineering Support:
- Assist with the setup of DJ equipment, microphones, and stage monitors as per technical riders.
- Support the lead sound engineer during sound checks and live performances.
- Operate basic functions on digital and analogue sound desks (e.g., Allen & Heath, Midas).
- Troubleshoot common audio issues, such as feedback, signal loss, and equipment faults.
Visuals & Staging:
- Operate VJ software (e.g., Resolume) to control LED walls and projection mapping.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of stage elements, DJ booths, and other production assets.
- Ensure all cabling is managed safely and neatly to prevent trip hazards.
General Duties:
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to interpret and execute the technical requirements of guest artists.
- Conduct regular maintenance, cleaning, and inventory checks of all production equipment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, particularly regarding electrical safety and working at height.
- Provide technical support and assistance to artists and staff as needed.

You need to be an outgoing, engaging team worker. Who is passionate about the customer and their experience within the venue. Open to flexible hours.
Requirements:
- Maths and English GCSE at grade C/4
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think on your feet in a high-pressure situation.
- Must be able to work late nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude.
- A genuine passion for music and club culture.

Creative Industries Production Technician – Live Events Technician Pathway Level 3 Standard
Apprentices learn the skills they need on the job with the guidance of a development coach who is an expert from industry. You’ll finish your apprenticeship with a recognised qualification, valuable industry experience, money, and substantial opportunities for promotion.
Summative Portfolio
You will be expected to deliver projects throughout the apprenticeship. Each project would involve research, knowledge and may be submitted in writing, a presentation or professional discussion.
Duty 1 Interpret system specifications for productions, live performance and events. These systems can include sound or lighting or video.
Duty 2 Assemble and configure systems to meet the specification requirements for sound, lighting, power or video.
Duty 3 Test, troubleshoot and maintain equipment and systems.
Duty 4 Collaborate with stakeholders and work with team members.
Duty 5 Operate and maintain technical equipment.
Duty 6 Dynamically risk assess the work environment and situation. Adapt working practices to ensure the safety of self and others.
Duty 7 Disassemble and store technical equipment safely and efficiently at the end of the event, ensuring that the integrity of the components is maintained.
Duty 8 (Live Event Technician (LET)) Repair complex systems and sub-assemblies at component level.
Duty 9 (Live Event Technician (LET)) Utilise lifting and rigging equipment to set up event systems.
Duty 10 (Live Event Technician (LET)) Specify equipment and system requirements suitable for the operational environment.
Duty 11 (Live Event Technician (LET)) Prepare and pack systems for local or international transportation prior to the event.
