Company:
Apprentice Digital Content Producer
Address:
Description:
An opportunity for a young content creator to join a leading production company as a digital content producer apprentice.
Vermillion Films is one of the leading production companies in the West Midlands producing branded content, commercials and corporate video. Our clients range from global brands to local companies and many in between.
We’re looking for a creative individual with an established interest in digital content production.
This will be a 12-15 month apprenticeship.
It is a predominantly work-from-home role so the successful candidate must be able to work comfortably at home.
The company shoots regularly so some UK and international travel is expected. Shoots can often take place at short notice and require overnight stays so the candidate must be flexible and able to accommodate unexpected changes to schedules.
The focus of the role will be supporting Vermillion’s Managing Director to gain a solid, hands on grounding in all aspects of production. The focus is primarily on pre-production and production tasks but you will gain an understanding of post production in a content, corporate video and commercials environment.
This role would suite someone on a path towards becoming a director, producer or other role in the production department.
Responsibilities will include:
- Shadowing and working with the Managing Director to gain experience and knowledge
- Managing release forms, callsheets, health and safety requirements and invoicing
- Finding and shortlisting cast and contributors
- Managing, copying and checking footage files on shoots
- Contributing to conceptual thinking and coming up with creative ideas and solutions
- Supporting the Managing Director, freelance producers and directors and the in house editor.
- Helping plan projects
- Working alongside post production to manage language localisation
- Ensuring creative work is completed to the highest standard
- General administration duties to support the team
- Research into current clients, market trends and competitors
- Client communication
- Shooting behind the scenes footage and still photography on larger productions
- Research into creative concepts
- Taking a proactive approach to self-development
- Upholding company standards, ensuring business professionalism and our reputation for excellence
- Other tasks as required.
Essential Skills Required:
- Must demonstrate a genuine passion for content
- Must already have solid basic knowledge and skills of pre-production, production and post-production techniques.
- It would be useful but not critical to the role to have some practical experience on film/tv or corporate shoots (most likely as a runner).
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is helpful.
Technical skills will be developed in the use of Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Camera technology and other industry standard software.
This apprenticeship will equip the successful candidate with the ideal opportunity to use this role as both as a stepping-stone into the TV/Content industry as well as a broad base of experience before you choose which area of the industry to specialise in.

Be smart: show us you know how to make things happen. We don’t mean in an ‘academic’ way but that you can work out what needs to be done, how it needs to be done and that you can get on and do it.
Be interested: show us that you are fascinated by all forms of digital content: who makes it, what they make, who they make it for and which channels they use to engage with their audience.
Be curious: show us that you think about digital content: what’s made, what isn’t; what works, what doesn’t; who watches it, who doesn’t; and why you think this happens.
