Icon is looking for a Groups and Public Programme Events Administrator to support the planning, coordination and delivery of events, meetings and public engagement activity. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is organised, enthusiastic and interested in developing a career in events, administration and stakeholder engagement within the cultural heritage sector.
In this role, you will support Icon’s volunteer-led Special Interest Groups and help coordinate talks, workshops, tours, studio visits and other public programmes. You will assist with managing shared inboxes, responding to enquiries, maintaining accurate records on the CRM system, setting up events using event management software, monitoring bookings, and supporting financial administration such as invoices and expenses.
You will work closely with colleagues, volunteers and external stakeholders to help ensure events and group activities run smoothly and professionally. The role offers hands-on experience in administration, event support, communication, reporting and teamwork, while building confidence in working across a busy and collaborative organisation.
Based in Icon’s Clerkenwell office with hybrid working available, this apprenticeship is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, managing multiple tasks and contributing to meaningful public and member engagement activity. You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship and gain valuable experience in a respected charity and professional membership organisation dedicated to protecting cultural heritage.

Requirements:
GCSE in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.

Events Assistant Level 3 apprenticeship
The apprentice will complete their apprenticeship with Creative Alliance through a blended learning model combining practical workplace experience with structured training and support.
Training will include:
- On-the-job learning
- Online learning
- Workplace training
- Independent research
- Project work
- One-to-one support
- Regular reviews with a development coach
With support from a dedicated development coach who is an expert in the industry, the apprentice will build practical skills in:
- Event planning and logistics
- Communication and Administration
- Budgeting and evaluation
- Health and safety
- GDPR and legislation
- Sustainability in events
- The full event lifecycle from planning to delivery and review
The apprentice will also receive support in preparing for their end-point assessment, while gaining a recognised qualification, valuable industry experience and strong progression opportunities.
