OAC Marketing, a Birmingham-based boutique agency specialising in personal branding, content creation, and influencer marketing. They looked to implement multiple apprentices within their workforce as a way to grow their team and capacity.

OAC Marketing
When founder Charlie launched OAC Marketing, she wasn’t looking for employees with extensive industry experience. She was looking for people who aligned with her company’s values, individuals with drive, curiosity, and a willingness to grow.
As a rapidly growing agency with just two team members at the time, OAC needed flexible, motivated people who could evolve with the business.
We worked closely with Charlie to embed the Multi-Channel Marketer and Ad & Media Executive Apprenticeships into the heart of their talent strategy. The goal wasn’t just to fill roles, but to build the business around the strengths of each new team member. That meant:
-
Tailoring learning to the needs of the business
-
Delivering training aligned with current industry needs, not static modules
-
Ensuring apprentices had constant 1-2-1 development time to stay ahead of industry shifts (e.g. algorithm changes, emerging tools, and platform updates)
Each apprentice was encouraged to take ownership, and to bring back new thinking from their structured learning into the agency’s everyday practice.
The Apprentice’s Impact
Meg joined OAC as a Ad & Media Apprentice and, in 18 months, earned a promotion to Junior Manager. Today, she leads on social media for clients, manages client communications, planning, copywriting, and reporting, and oversees creative strategy and delivery.
Her work for Jolt, further highlights their personal and professional development, and the incredible depth of her output:
-
Created monthly content packages for JOLT, including 18 social posts, stories, blogs, paid ads, and email campaigns
-
Led content shoots—planning, directing, filming 90 days of reels with JOLT’s team, including comedian co-founder Russell Kane
-
Developed her skills in copywriting and ad optimisation, refining both messaging and analytics month on month
This high-quality work underscores the calibre of output our apprentices deliver, well beyond expectations most employers have.
