The Midlands Art Centre is a unique space that hosts a range of creative events and activities. From recording studios, galleries, workshops/classes, a cinema and multiple stages – with such variety, they need a team that’s adaptable and flexible to meet these demands. That’s where apprenticeships come in; the MAC utilises the apprenticeship scheme to inject fresh, mouldable talent into their team. Allowing them to not only learn on the apprenticeship programme but also from senior professionals.

Over the years, the MAC has recruited a range of apprentices in different areas of the organisation, including Creative Industries Production Technicians, Multi-Channel Marketer, Cultural Learning and Participation Officer, and Customer Service. With large organisations, apprenticeships can be implemented across the business to provide support, close skills gaps, and build critical pathways into the industry.

Blaire’s Journey

Blaire is another incredible success story for us! They first joined Creative Alliance on our Live Events Skills Bootcamp Course, they had a passion for theatre and live events, and wanted to go from front of stage to behind. The course developed their technical skills, meaning that by the end of the 5-week course, they had the necessary skills to secure an apprenticeship with the MAC. Since then, they have been working alongside Tom (Senior Performing Arts Technician) and our expert coaches to further develop their skills.
