Content Creator

A Content Creator is responsible for developing, creating and distributing content that can be used across a variety of media including digital, social media, broadcast or in print.

Working to the customer/client brief, they research, prepare and develop the media messaging to maximise audience engagement, capturing the strategy and objectives of the brand and needs of the customer they are representing. The content they create can be used as part of media, advertising and marketing campaigns.

Course Overview

The Apprenticeship

Core Modules

The apprentice’s training consists of six core modules, delivered one day a week, over the first six months. Core modules are attended by Multi-Channel Marketer, Production Assistant, Ad & Media Executive and Content Creator apprentices, on the first three weeks of each month. For the last week, apprentices receive specialised training to learn skills specific to their standard.

With the core modules completed, apprentices can attend optional Additional Value modules that are chosen in agreement with their employer to attain higher-level skills tailored to their role and the business needs. See the full information for the delivery model and modules..

Introductory Projects

Throughout their apprenticeship a learner will do up to 6 projects that will make up part of their portfolio, below are three examples of the types of project they will do.

Project 1
Content planning, development and pitching
– looking at how to develop your ideas for real projects and pitching them professionally.

Project 2
Content Development – The learner will have to show technical skills in developing content – looking at video, images and copywriting.

Project 3
Content Production and Analysis – In this project, the learner will produce content, be part of distributing the content and then reflect on how it performed.

End point Assessment

For the Content Creator there is an end point assessment. This is done in the final part of the apprenticeship and is how the apprentice is judged of their learning.

The Content Creator EPA involves the following:

  • Project or campaign evaluation report (x1,500 words), presentation of additional/new content and questions.

Training

Apprentices learn the skills they need on the job with the guidance of a development coach who is an expert in the industry. You’ll finish your apprenticeship with a recognised qualification, valuable industry experience, money, and substantial opportunities for promotion.

Throughout the 15-month qualification, there are 36 seminars which the apprentice has to attend. These are either at the centre or delivered online via a webinar.

Apprentices learn the skills they need on the job with the guidance of a development coach who is an expert from industry. You’ll finish your apprenticeship with a recognised qualification, valuable industry experience, money, and substantial opportunities for promotion.
